We have so enjoyed our “tucked away, off the beaten path” of your very delightful retreat, a smile everywhere from “watch yer noggin” to the Wishing Bench – colours – vibrant – the pulley and the basket, to the interior Laundry Room door! Thank you so much for your lovely hospitality; 1.5 days is too short; barely time to relax after the effort of packing for a trip. Food exquisite! We leave with more than we came pound wise… The visits, the hike, the quilt – your openness, all so refreshing. Thank you, thank you. Don and Karen Cornelius, Petersberg, Alaska, May 22, 2011 |

You certainly made me feel like Home and provided an inspiring retreat to complete the book about my journey north. Good to be around roamers… Dirk Rohrback, Germany, April 2011 |

Such a delightful winter escape to your enchanting cabin on Crag Lake. We really enjoyed all your thoughtful details – the tree house library, collection of clay mugs… the breakfasts have been unsurpassed by any other place we’ve stayed… and the surprise loaf was a treat. We especially enjoyed an evening sauna and roll in the snow, as well as our trek up the lake to the Ukrainian bakery. You have created a welcoming space – we’ll be sure to return. The slender pines wave gently to and fro
Trish Bessell, Suffolk, England, May – July, 2010calling me to the lake below. The nesting loons send their plaintive call I really can’t resist at all! Out on Crag Lake, nothing stirs just an occasional robin amongst the firs. Beaver sticks line the shore, as we journey south, there’s more… and more. | |
| "I can't imagine a more idyllic spot to spend our 30th anniversay! Everything was wonderful - from the morning muffins, to the sauna before bed. Dan enjoyed his adventuring about the countryside and I have a whole new perspective on journals. I'm not sure I can go back to the plain black moleskins. Thanks for all your care ans attention and thanks to Keno for being such a great trail guide. We thouroughly enjoyed our time here." Dan & Carlyn Sullivan - Oregon |

Thank you for building this beautiful cabin on the lake! This is my second stay here and I hope many more in the future. I really enjoyed your outdoor sauna. The view from the super warm cabin is amazing. Wish I could one day live out here also! Norris Cheung , Beijing, March, 2011 |

Your dream of giving folks “more than just” a night or two away is so felt here! It’s a coming alive, getting in touch with each other without distractions of electronic gadgets, time to think, talk, play games, snow-shoe, sauna, dance. Jeff just turned 50; time to celebrate! We’ve been together 3 years; time to propose! Yup! We are getting married on May 29th! Thank you for everything! Jeff and Becky, Skagway, Alaska, January, 2011Wedding proposal on Crag Lake |

Our stay was absolutely perfect! Art with Jeanine, diner in the green house, hot sauna in the evening rain, hot tasty fruit crisp back in the cabin – best damn muffins hoisted up in the morning, great Indonesian eggs, fantastic hosts! Here’s to you being part of our memory forever and here’s to us for six years of a beautiful marriage. Rob and Marie-Steph, July, 2010 Happy Anniversary Weekend |
