cabinThe guest cabin dream started percolating soon after we arrived to Crag Lake from Cali, Columbia. We wanted to extend the peace we found here to others who might need a sanctuary. Originally, we pictured something much smaller but Suzanne needed a Maritime styled dormer as a cozy reading corner. Rob built the cabin over three seasons, from local materials. outhouse

"Toilette al fresco" is ingeniously created with a medieval theme. Situated near the upper garden, the outdoor experience allows for potential views of northern lights (in winter) and many bird sounds.

kitchen

The kitchen is equipped with a propane stove, electric fridge, floral themed light fixtures, Guatemalan tiles (hand carried from Antigua), a double sized futon, antiques and cabinets built by Rob. Purified drinking water is provided in an electric cooler and water for cooking and washing is delivered from the lake in a barrel.

loft

The loft has an outside access as well as a ladder from the main floor. The cathedral style windows acts as a clever headboard that allows a rare view into a squirrel’s nest in the treetops. Suzanne creates handmade quilts during the long dark winters using reclaimed items such as clothing labels, doilies and soon, neckties.
